Last week, NASCAR hosted its biggest event of the year in the Daytona 500, and it had been about as unpredictable as one could expect.Denny Hamlin, a guy called a king of the restrictor-plate races, took home the win as a huge crash pumped out a massive section of the field down the stretch.
As racing begins this week in Atlanta Motor Speedway, there will be many sins on the track.
Kevin Harvick is the favored that is understandable at 4/1 odds with eight top-10 finishes in his last 10 races and just two career wins over the trail there. While Busch has two wins at AMS and five top 10s in his last 10 races, kyle Busch and Joey Logano both have 6/1 chances. Logano has four finishes, although no wins.
And while Martin Truex Jr. and Brad Keselowski can get lost in the shuffle, they’re more than formidable in Georgia.
This week, who wins? It might be foolish to choose against Harvick, but Kyle Larson is due for a win. The 26-year-old went without a triumph last year, but Atlanta could be the spot for him to find Victory Lane. Larson has a second place finish in five career races at AMS and three top-10 finishes.
